    • Carlos Pulley Dies at Sunset Home

      Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Clarksdale Christian Church for Carlos Pulley, longtime resident of DeKalb County. Services were conducted by Rev. Russell Evans.  Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Jeannie Till, sang. "'The Old Rugged Cross' and "Does Jesus Care."  Pallbearers were John Pulley, Lee Pulley, Grover Pulley, Herald Thornton, Clifford Whitsell and George Welsh. Interment was in the Clarksdale cemetery under direction of the Bram funeral home, Maysville. 

      Carlos D. Pulley, son of Newton and Jennie Blakely Pulley, was born Dec. 12, 1869 and died at Sunset Home, Maysville at the age of 94 years. After the family moved to DeKalb County he was married to Myrtie Rose and to them were born two sons, Ray and Roy, who preceded him in death, and a daughter, Mrs. Loraine Mann, Berkeley, Calif. For many years he was a telegraph operator at Cosby, Mo., living the greater part of his life in DeKalb County.

      Further survivors are three grandsons, Byron Pulley, Fort Worth, Texas; Eugene Pulley, Carson City, Nev.; Lt. Com. Gerald P. Pulley of the Navy at Washington, D. C., and two granddaughters, Patsy Loraine Sellman, Sacramento, Calif., and Gloria Pulley, Denver, Colo.
