In the name of God Amen. I, John Rucker of the County of Pettis & State of Missouri being of sound mind & memory & considering the uncertainty of this frail & transcient life do therefore make, ordain, publish & declare this to be my last will & testament.
That is to say: First after all my lawful debts are paid & discharged the residue of my estate real & personal I give bequeath & dispose as follows to wit: To my beloved wife the land & apportionment situated thereon known & described as the Rucker farm lying in Pettis County & State of Missouri, Together with all the personal property now possessed by me during this term of her widowhood & after her widowhood or at her death to be divided equally among my heirs. Except the three children of my daughter Lucy dec., I give and bequeath to Jno. Willis Hargrove, William Riley & Francis Ann Hargrove the sum of Ten Dollars each to be paid when they become twenty one years of age with interest at the rate of ten per ct per annum from the date of the settlement of my estate.
Likewise I make, constitute and appoint My said wife Elizabeth to be Executrix during her widowhood or her natural life after which I make constitute & appoint my two sons Edward & John to be the Executors of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name & affixed my seal this 4 day of March A.D. 1863.

Signed, sealed, published & declared by the said John Rucker as & for his last will & testament in the presence of us who at the request of the said John Rucker in his presence & in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names & respective places of residence as Witnesses.

Be it remembered that on this 16th day of March A.D. 1863 before me Sam A. Lowe Clerk of the County Court within & for the County of Pettis personally appeared Saml Workman & Geo W. Lutz who being by me duly sworn upon their oath state deposeth & say that they were present & saw John Rucker sign the foregoing instrument purporting to be his last will & testament & that at the time of signing the same the said John Rucker was over the age of Twenty one years & of sound & disposing mind & that these deponents as attesting witnesses subscribed their names thereto as witnesses to the same in the presence of the Testator & of each other & at the request of the said John Rucker.
