Will of Jacob D. Helman

Know All Men By These Presents, that I, Jacob D. Helman of the County of Pettis, State of Missouri being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this, my Last Will and Testament, in manner and form following;

First. I direct that all my just debts be paid out of my estate.

Second. I give and bequeath to my wife Mary B. Helman all my real and personal property of all kinds and wherever the same may be situated to have and to hold the same unto her the said Mary B. Helman during the term of her life.

Third. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elva Helman the sum of one thousand ($1000) dollars to be paid to the said Elva Helman after the decease of my said wife Mary B. Helman. This special bequeath to my said daughter Elva Helman is made for services rendered by her in caring for and nursing her Aunt Emaline Brickley during the last illness of the said Aunt Emaline Brickley.

Fourth. After the termination of the life estate of my said wife Mary B. Helman, and subject to the said life estate and after the payment of legacy of one thousand ($1000) to my daughter Elva Helman as before specified. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elva Helman the following tracts and parcels of land situated in the county of Pettis and State of Missouri. The North West quarter of section twenty eight (28) Township forty five (45) range twenty two (22) also lots one (1) two (2) three (3) seven (7) eight (8) nine (9) ten 910) eleven (11) and twelve (12) in block one (1) in Stafford addition to Green Ridge MO to have and to hold unto the said Elva Helman, her heirs and assigns forever.

And to my son Eugene B. Helman, ninety five (95) acres of land being all that part of the north east quarter of section thirty two (32) lying north and west of the MK & T railroad in Township forty five range twenty two (22) Pettis Co. Mo. also to the said Eugene B Helman five (5) acres of timber on the north east end of lot three (3) of the north west quarter of section three (3) Township forty five (45) Range twenty two (22) Pettis Co. Mo.

And to my son Forrest E. Helman I give and bequeath the home place of one hundred sixty acres being the south east quarter of section twenty nine (29) Township forty five (45) range twenty two Pettis County, Mo., also twenty five (25) of timber being on the north side of west half of lot three (3) of north east quarter of section four township forty four 944) range twenty two (22) Pettis County Mo. to have and to hold to my said Forrest E Helman his heirs and assigns forever subject however to the following provision. I direct that my said son Forrest E Helman shall pay to my son Eugene B. Helman the sum of one thousand ($1000) dollars which amount is represented in part by the difference in value of the real estate bequeathed to my sons before mentioned it being my intention that the $1000.00 specified shall be paid to my son Eugene B. Helman by the said Forrest E Helman personally and individually out of the said bequeathed by the said Forrest E. Helman.

And lastly I give and bequeath to my said children Elva Helman, Eugene B. Helman and Forrest E. Helman all my personal property which may remain after the termination of the life estate of my wife Mary B. Helman to be divided equally among my said children Elva Helman, Eugene B. Helman and Forrest E. Helman, share and share alike.

And last I hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Mary B. Helman to be the Executrix, without bond of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made, and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.

Green Ridge, Mo., Jan 12th, 1920.

I the undersigned Jacob D. Helman hereby make this a codicil to my attached Last Will and Testament which was dated March 12. 1909. as follows: I desire that the $1000 cast bequest mentioned in my will hereto attached which was to go to my daughter Elvie Helman for the care of her Aunt Emaline Brickley shall be given instead to my son Eugene B. Helman and in addition I direct that my said son Eugene B. Helman shall recur $2000 more in cast out of my estate making a total of $3000 in cash to be paid to my said son Eugene.

Also in addition to the bequests made in my attached will, to my daughter Elvie Helman I desire that my said daughter Elvie shall recur all of the furniture and household goods of every description which may belong to my estate after the death of myself and wife.

I also give to my son, Forrest E. Helman, my two shares of stock in the Farmers & Merchants Bank of Green Ridge Mo. in addition to bequests already made in my attached will to my said son Forrest E. Helman.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and declare this to be my will and that it be annexed and made a part of my last will and testament aforesaid.
