Services were to be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos for William H. Wibberg, 67, of rural Jefferson City, a native of Frankenstein.
The Rev. Kevin Clohessy was to conduct the funeral for Mr. Wibberg, who died Monday at a Jefferson City hospital, with burial in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Wibberg was born Sept. 26, 1929, to Conrad Wibberg and the former Mary Christina Huesgen. He was married April 11, 1964, at Holts Summit to the former Clara Nelson, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of central Missouri, Mr. Wibberg attended school at Frankenstein and was employed for many years as a heavy-equipment operator. He also was a commercial fisherman on the Missouri River for more than 50 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier parish and the Osage City Community Center.
He also is survived by two sons, William H. Wibberg II of Jefferson City and Vernon Wibberg of Helena; seven daughters, Patricia Haslag of Loose Creek, Deborth Mehmert of Chamois, Carol Dismang of Jefferson City, Alice Neier of New Bloomfield, Elaine Bledsoe of Mountain City, Phyllis Payne of Cosby and Betty Flowers of Fulton; two sisters, Iona Bond of Taos and Dorothy Morre of West Lafayette, Inc.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
