    • Vera Fullerton

      Vera E. Fullerton, 63, Burlington Jct., died Feb. 25 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born Oct. 10. 1916, at Burlington Jct., to Hildred Palley [*sic*] Helms and the late Dayton B. Helms. She operated a tavern and was a member of the Christian Church. She was married to Harry Fullerton, who died in 1968.  Surviving besides her mother, is a daughter, Joyce Meyer, Lovelady, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

      Services were held Feb. 27, at Barr-Merrick Chapel with burial in Ohio Cemetery. The Rev. Don Barnett officiated.  Mary Alice Staples, organist, played "Star of the East" and accompanied Becky McCain who sang "Amazing Grace," "What a Friend" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Pauline Hoover was at the register, and casket bearers were Jeral Davison. A.P. Johnston. Dickie Parshall, Todd Brummitt, Sam Heriford and Bob Jones.

      Hildred L. Helms today entered suit for divorce against her husband, Dayton B. Helms, charging desertion. They were married in August, 1916, and lived together until August, 1921, when, according to the petition, the husband left without reason. The plaintiff asks for the custody of the two children, 6 and 7 years old.
