    • Death of E. T. Pulley

Mr. E. T. Pulley, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of this community passed  peacefully away at his late residence Sunday morning March 31st of general debility reaching the advanced age of sixty-seven years.  He leaves six children to mourn his dimise [sic].  His wife succumbed to the grim monster death several years previous, and Uncle Ed, as be was familiarly known, was only waiting the summons when he should meet with loved ones on the other shore.

He was a devoted member of the Baptist church and his funeral was conducted by Elder F. T. Shore of the Baptist church of this city, from the family residence on Monday, who paid a glowing tribute to the life of the deceased and afforded all the comfort possible to those who are left behind.  He has been a sufferer for a number of years, but was only confined to his room a few days, and although his attending physicians and kind and willing hands of friends did all in human power to alleviate his suffering, but to no avail, the summons had come, and he was ready to answer it.  Thus peacefully passes away another old landmark. Peace to his ashes.
