Herbert E. Acree
NAMPA - Herbert E. Acree, 91, of Nampa, died Thursday, May 1, 1986, in a Boise hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Rev. Leo W. Reed of the Nampa First Baptist Church will officiate, under direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Friends are asked to please meet at the cemetery.
Mr. Acree, a retired welder, was born Feb. 21, 1895, at Gonzales, Texas, and was reared and educated in Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I spent some of his military duty in France. He was honorably discharged in 1919. He married Jewell Binyon in 1921 at Bridgeport, Texas. They lived in and Oklahoma before moving to Nampa in 1926. He farmed in the Sunnyridge area of Nampa for a number of years. He later went to work the city of Nampa. He also worked as a welder for several years.
He was a member of War Eagle Barracks #459, Veterans of World War I; and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of Nampa; four sons, Jack and R. L. Acree, both of Boise, Pete Acree of Lewiston and Phil Acree of Wheatland, Calif.; a daughter, Doris Fellows of Reno, Nev.; two brothers, John Acree of Nampa and Richard Acree of El Reno, Okla.; a sister, Pearl Oberquelle of Yakima, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
