    • Mrs. Frederick Gerber

      Mrs. Marie Jaquet Gerber, 88, the widow of Frederick Gerber, died early yesterday morning at her home, 2021-1/2 South 11th street. 

      Born in Bern, Switzerland, she came to St. Joseph from Switzerland in 1885.  She was a member of the Unity Church and a charter member of the Swiss Lodge. 

      Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Rose Stewart, Inglewood, Cal., Mrs. Louise Webb, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Madelaine Buis, and Mrs. Esther Holland, both of St. Joseph; two sons, Charles Jaquet, St. Joseph, and Edward Jaquet, Milwaukee, Ore.; two stepsons, Louis Gerber, Savannah, Mo., and John Gerber, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Emma Bangerter, West Los Angeles, Cal.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 

      Services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Meierhoffer-Fleeman chapel with the Rev. Frank E. Myers officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Mora cemetery. 

      The body is at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman mortuary.
