Ghost Towns

Boxford: Was located 7 miles NW of Clarksdale on Third Fork, 1/2 mile from the Andrew County line.

Bayfield: Was located 16 miles east of St. Joseph on the Rock Island Railroad.

Standard: Was located 10 miles SW of Maysville. It was a station on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad.

Galveston: A former resident of the area stated “Before Boxford was born, a little store a few hundred feet west across Big Third Fork existed, a store called Galveston. It ceased to exist about 1920.”

Dayton: No location information.
