Todd Cemetery
AKA Jimtown Cemetery, Catlett Farm, Maxwell Cemetery
Jefferson Township, Section 21
Andrew County, Missouri
Directions: From Savannah, south on State Route DD 7.2 miles to County Road 378, then west on CR 378 0.5 mile to CR 380, south 0.1 mile. Can be seen from either CR 378 looking south or CR 380, looking east. Need to walk from either road, but walking from CR 380 is shorter by half the distance through the corn field.
Notes: Jamestown or “Jimtown” was apparently named for James Crowley, an early settler. The Jamestown Church shows on the 1877 plat map in Section 22, but Jamestown was a settlement as early as 1839. There were Baptist, Cumberland Presbyterian, and Methodist churches there.
Credits: This cemetery was documented and photographed by Betty Halvorsen and Nadine Taylor, 2005 and 2007. (c)THE Transcriptions (Taylor, Halvorsen, Eshelman).
