In the name of God Amen. I, Lucy Edwards the widow of Samuel Edwards deceased of the State of Missouri and County of Pettis do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:

First, I resign my soul into the hands of almighty God, hoping and believing in the remission of my sins by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ and my body I commend to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and my worldly estate I give and devise as follows:

First, I give and devise unto my son John W Edwards the sum of two hundred dollars in money and one bed and furniture. Also, I give and devise unto my daughter Sarah M Edwards two hundred dollars in money and one bed and its furniture.

I do hereby appoint my son John W Edwards executor of this my last Will and Testament.

Signed, sealed and published and declared by the said Testator as and for her last Will and Testament in presence of us who at her request - in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto this the 9th day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven.

I Sam A Lowe, Clerk of the County Court of the County of Pettis aforesaid do certify that on the 1st of February 1859, the foregoing instrument purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Lucy Edwards dec'd was presented in Court for probate and proven by the oaths of Jas Whitfield and Daniel A Gardner two of the subscribing witnesses thereto have been acknowledged and published by the accendent as her last Will and testament, that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other and at the time of so making the decedent was of sound mind &c. Whereupon the same is ordered to be recorded and is together with this certificate truly recorded in my office.
