Smithton, Pettis County, Missouri

Located on the west side of Rattlesnake Hill Road, about a half mile south of Smithton from its SW corner. Lovely old cemetery, thoughtfully platted, neatly done, well attended. High marks. Sections are marked on the front fence and numbered from north to south, 1 through 8 on the east half and 9 through 16 on the west half. The west additions have only a handful of graves presently. Section 1 is black. (GCW 2004)

Updated by Justin Watkins 2011: East on Highway 50 to W, South on W, East on Main Street, South on Chestnut, South .2 miles on Rattlesnake Road. This cemetery was transcribed by Mrs. Georgia Chancey and Mrs. Juanita Waggoner of the Sedalia LDS Church on 19 and 22 September 1960. The DAR published a transcription of Smithton Cemetery in 1969; updated in 1986; partially recorded by George C. Willick on 14 October 2003 and 5 June 2004; updated by Carol, Amy, and Justin Watkins between 3 and 5:30 p.m. on 1 September 2009.
