Redman Cemetery

The first burial at what was to become Redman Cemetery was the infant child of a family traveling the Sante Fe Trail in a covered wagon. Weather and damage to the wagon forced the family to stop, and they took refuge at the home of Nathaniel and Anna (Brown) Redman. Francis M. Redman died in 1855, and when his heirs sold the land, a section was reserved for the cemetery.
