      SAVANNAH, Mo. -- Allene (Meers) Reynolds, 94, Savannah, passed from this life on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Heartland Hospital.

      She was born April 18, 1917 in Troy, Kan., to Harrison and Nina (Lewis) Meers. Allene married Frank Reynolds on April 3, 1935 in Troy, Kan., and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1998.

      She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Rosalie Kozak; and a brother, John Meers.

      Allene was a Psychiatric Aide at the St. Joseph State Hospital. She was a member of the Amazonia Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards and dancing at the Senior Center.

      Survivors: daughter, Donna Reynolds, St. Joseph; two brothers: Sam Meers, Amazonia; and Paul Meers, St. Joseph; two sisters, Arminta Steeby and Joyce Owens, both of St. Joseph; several nieces and nephews.

      A Celebration of Life will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Mo. Private interment will be in the Savannah Cemetery.
      The family requests no flowers.
