      SAVANNAH, Mo. –  Sharon K. (Tilson) Hurst, 59, Savannah, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at her home.

      Sharon was born March 15, 1952, in St. Joseph to Emery and Wanda (Caselman) Tilson, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Central High School and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Missouri Western State University.

      Sharon had most recently been the business office assistant for Aseracare.  Previously she had been a para at Savannah High School, customer service technician for the IRS and worked at Westab.

      Sharon married Gary Hurst on August 12, 1972, at Green Valley Baptist Church in St. Joseph; he survives of the home.

      Sharon was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, as well as Women on Mission. She enjoyed scrapbooking, but her family and friends were most important to her.  She loved them dearly and was devoted to them all. Her husband, Gary was her best friend.

      Additional survivors include daughter, Heidi Hurst, Los Angeles, Calif.; son, Dustin (Katie) Hurst, Columbia, Mo.; granddaughter, Maryam; brother, Bob (Susie) Guinn; sisters, Sondra (Steve) Allen, Carol (Dennis) McGarry, all of St. Joseph; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; brothersand sisters-in-law.

      Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Savannah. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. Interment: Savannah Cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Veronica's Voice, P. O. Box 172472, Kansas City, KS 66117-1472 or First Baptist Church in Savannah.
