Charles Holzhauser, 88, died Monday night at a St. Joseph hospital. Mr. Holzhauser’s wife, Nora Powell Holzhauser, died last Thursday.
Born at Hanover, Germany, Mr. Holzhauser came to the United States at the age of three. He has been a resident of the Wathena community for 60 years. A member of the Baptist church, he was a retired farmer and commercial fisherman.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Andrew Schubert and Mrs. Reid Russell, both of St. Jo and Miss Stella Holzhauser, Elwood; two sons, Fred Holzhauser of Elwood and Al Holzhauser of St. Jo; 16 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 P.M. at the First Baptist church in Wathena, the Rev. John Parker officiating. Burial will be at the Bellemont Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Ewan, George Jones Jr., Everett Euler Jr., E.J. Madinger, Douglas Pohl and Vern Wilson.
The body is at the Harman Mortuary at Wathena.
