SPARKS, Kan. – Winifred M. (Baxter) Baskins, 75, Sparks, died Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at a healthcare center in Highland, Kan.
She was born on May 31, 1922, in Powhattan, Kan.
On Aug. 12, 1939, she married Jesse C. Baskins, in Troy, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1992. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Charlse [sic] W. and Flossie Baxter; a brother, Charles E. Baxter; and a sister, Ruth Bennett.
Mrs. Baskins was a homemaker.
Surviving: two daughters, Jewel Carron, Hiawatha, Kan., and Annette Smith, Troy; two sons, Gary Baskins, Wathena, Kan., and Denny Baskins, Troy; two brothers, Ewing H. Baxter, St. Joseph, and Earl E. Baxter, Rosendale, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Highland Mortuary, Highland, Kan. Burial: Iola Cemetery, Sparks, Kan. Friends may call after noon today at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight.
