The funeral of Mrs. M. J. Sheridan occurred at the cathedral yesterday forenoon at 10 o'clock. A large concourse of the friends of the deceased lady were in attendance to pay their last tribute of respect to one who was universally loved and admired. Rev. Father Ignatius conducted the services, saying the mass for the dead, and paid an eloquent tribute to the memory of Mrs. Sheridan. He spoke of her many excellent qualities of mind and heart with so much feeling that when he concluded there were few dry eyes in the large congregation. The address was eloquent and touching and endowed with more than ordinary interest on account of the well known purity of character of the deceased woman. Appropriate music was furnished by a selected choir, and at the conclusion of the services the remains were laid at rest in the Catholic cemetery, with appropriate rites.
