CHARLES CRAWFORD, farmer, section 20, is a native of Ireland, and was born in the year 1834. When fifteen years of age he emigrated to America, after which he was engaged in various employments, in many different States.

In 1856 he located in Holt County, Missouri, where he has since been engaged in farming, and now has a farm of one hundred and eighty-one 'acres. During the war he served in the militia for about nine months. December 8, 1861, Mr. C. was married to Miss Margaret R. Collins, who was born in Holt County, Missouri, in October, 1844. They have had nine children, of whom are now living three boys and four girls: William, James, Hattie M., Minnie I., Rebecca L., Myrtie E. and Oscar.
