We're still doing hacker clean-up. There are a *lot* of broken links to images and files. Cleaning it up is a daunting process -- each item has to be examined and repaired one by one. As they are fixed, they'll be reactivated. If you find that an article you're looking for hasn't yet been cleaned up, just let me know and I'll move it to the top of the to-do list. Thanks for your patience.

DeKalb County, Missouri

This is the home of the DeKalb County MOGenWeb Project, which is part of the MOGenWeb and USGenWeb projects. This is not an official site for any county agency, or genealogical or historical society.

Your County Coordinator is Kris. I am a volunteer. While I may contribute information to the site, I do not live in DeKalb County and cannot help you with your research there. I maintain the website and manage submissions from other researchers -- like you.

All of the information here is provided free for personal use, but may not be used commercially or sold without the specific permission of both the original submitter and the County Coordinators.

DeKalb County was organized on 25 February 1845 from Clinton County and is named after the American Revolutionary War general Johann de Kalb. Many records were lost in an 1878 courthouse fire.
