Alma S. Runnels 90 of Savannah formerly of Gallatin, 90, died at a Savannah nursing facility on July 8, 2015 with her daughters by her side. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 12th at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be 1-hour prior to the service where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin First Baptist Church of Gallatin in care of McWilliams Funeral Home. Alma was born May 3, 1925 in Inman, S.C. to Theron and Elizabeth (Williams) Fowler, the youngest of nine children. She graduated from High School in Duncan, S.C. At the age of 19, Alma met Vincent Runnels in New York City at the christening of his destroyer ship, the Cunningham. Alma and Vincent were married in Norfolk, VA on April 28, 1945. The couple moved to Gallatin, MO. and farmed until retirement in 2005, later moving to Savannah, MO to be near family . . .
